I hate days like this, the ones where everything just annoys the crap out of you.
You know what, I think I need some chocolate.
Takuto, I want you NOW D:
I've been to the mall 3 times in the bast 3 days.
And I've only been to like, 4 stores
D:
But
I have a dress, shoes, and the proper under atire. SO...I'm done with that crap yo.
And now it's time for a tale of disapointment.
I went to Walden Books in North East because it has the most awsomest Manga section ever. And ZOMG SALE! Buy 3 get one free, and and Fruits Basket 10 was there and and I wanted it. They have a list of certain titles that are buy 3 get one free. Fubura 10 was one of them. Hooray! I was excited.
and then
The list said Full Moon Wo Sagashite was one too ZOMG I've been waiting to read that one. AND it dosen't come out till July. So...I decided to wait till it came out, because I really wanted it to be my free one. SO no fubura till then T____________T
I bet more than half of you have NO idea what I'm talking about :D
Triumphant Return
After 16 hours of flighing, 24 hours of continuous not sleeping and 3 days of recooperating I am officialy home for the summer.
After returning from Venice we had around a week more in Florence and then it was off to Rome for the last 3 days of the trip. I'm going to have to go back to Rome, 3 days is nothing there, its huge. I saw The Vatican and the Roman ruins and thats about it. Oh, and the Ecstacy of Saint Theresa, and the monk there gave us candy. It was monk candy, because monks made it. It's good stuff. My last night in Rome a group of us (the cool ones) went out for our final italian meal. The rest of them went to the Hard Rock cafe. LAME.
And then, then the traveling began. Everything started out smoothly, the flight from Rome to NYC wasn't bad. I mean, it was painfully long, but thats about it. They did show 3 movies instead of just one, and they were pretty good movies. I was pretty occupied. And then, then the fun starts. In NYC we have to go through customs. So, we have all our bags (all of them) and we go to the belt to get them back on the plain and...it's broken. So, they send us somewhere else. So now we're all nervous about our luggage. Then, we get on the plane and sit there. And then we sit there some more. And then they put more fule in the plane. And then we wait in line to take off. And then it's been over 2 hours and we all realize we have a snowballs chance in hell of making out connecting flights. Joy! My flight to Dallas left at 9:20 from Atlanta. We touch down in Atlanta at 9:20. So Painfull D: So, we all have to pray that we can get on another flight that night. Now, the people flying to Austin acctually make their flight, it left at like, 10:30 or something. It's ust Dallasites and H towners that are out of luck. Well, there was a flight to DFW at 10:50 and I made it home that night. The poor Houston folks had to spend the night in Atlanta. Suxz0rz man.
So, I get into Dallas, and I haven't slept in over 24 hours and I'm just really angry with the world...and exhausted. So, we're waiting for my luggage and my Dad is all, the girls are going dress shoping tomorrow and you don't have to go but it would probably be good. And I'm all, Why? (because I'm delirious and sleep deprived)
And it is at this moment that he decides to anounce that he's getting married in 2 weeks. Thanks dad, thanks for the heads up. I knew it was supposed to happen in July, but a little warning would have been nice. Lets just say, I'm annoyed with him right now.
And the house is still disheveld.
Anyone want a house guest in 2 weeks, I cant go upstairs while they're laying the floor.

Venice
June 16 2005
So, right now I’m riding the rails back to Florence after 3 (well…more like 2 and a half) days in Venice. What a welcome change! I really felt like I was on a vacation from the trip. The change of scenery, the change of art work, and the amazing meals I treated myself to. Oh, and to be in a hotel, where I don’t have to make my bed (not that I ever do that in Florence) or pick up (or that I do that either). Hotels are great.
So, we arrived in Venice and went to the Bienali gardens. All modern art, from different countries, very nice to have a break from the churches, the gothic and renaissance, the DP lectures of doom. I was there for 4 hours and still didn’t see it all. Some of it was really cool…some of it was really bizarre…and some of it was something else, not sure what. That night David and Nadia showed us all to a Chinese restaurant (yes, chinese) and it was good. Not the same as PF changs, but good. Fried ice cream is awesome. We ran those poor people ragged, not to mention packed the house.
The next day we went to San Marco and saw, what? Any guesses?
That’s right, a Church. It was a cool church though, very decorated. I snuck some pictures. Oh, I’m a rebel. I also say the Dodge palace from the exterior. Then we went to the Guggenheim. The had a Pollock exhibit, that was nice to see. I saw that one sculpture…bird in space. Remember that one fellow art historians? Then that afternoon I went back to the Bienale to see the Artzenale. Some crazy stuff was in there man. Like the chandelier made of OB tampons (thank you Gorilla Girls) and the craziest costume I’ve ever seen. Then, I invited myself to dinner with Sara and Celeste. They were eating with Jeff, and I tagged along. Good idea, Jeff lived in Venice for 2 years, if you’re going to follow anyone to dinner, he’s the guy to follow. AMAZING DINNER! It ranks #2 on the charts, under Gene’s amazing home cooked Italian meal. I had Spaghetti with Putenesca (contrary to A series of unfortunate events…it doesn’t mean leftover pasta…it’s sauce with tomatoes, anchovies, capers, and olives) and Rabbit. Then this mint ice cream thing with chocolate for desert.
And finally, today I went to Murono to see all the glass. It was so pretty, of course everything I wanted was crazy expensive. I got a tiny little bowl, and a necklace. It was a splurge, 33 euro…but it’s gorgeous, and I didn’t see anything else like it so it makes me happy. Then we came back to the city and ate. Then we just window shopped around. In Venice the have Carnival, so they had all these mask shops. The masks are so amazing. I actually got myself one, it was too awesome not to get. It’s a fox, and its lime green, yellow, and turquoise. It’s so cool, I’ll take a picture later. What I will do with it, I don’t know…but it’s great.
All in all, Venice is awesome. I am a little upset I never rode a gondola. No one wanted to Next time, because I will be back. In fact, I think it would be an ideal spot for a honeymoon. So, if my future husband is reading this, please make a mental note.
And now that I’ve rambled on for quite some time I think I’ll stop and take a nap. As wonderful as it was, it’s left me exhausted.
torture D:
I think it may be time for a nice long journal about the wonderful world of Italy. So, I was like, updating on the spot until yesterday, when the brilliant Tiffany said she wrote all her LJs out BEFORE she went to the café. Duhr…I can save my precious precious minutes for Gaia. Oh Gaia…but that’s another entry for another day. So, lets begin with a lovely description of the usual day here in Florence.
First I wake up at 7:30 (yes, that is in the AM… D:) and walk to class. Then I endure a nice hour long lecture on some sort of art history. I usually zone out halfway through the thing. Then, we set out on an excursion. Now, our fearless leader DP21, though he looks old, could outwalk the best of them. So, after a brisk walk to wherever we’re going, we have more lecture on the spot. And then when the day comes to a close, I pass out on the couch watching MTV.
So that’s a good rundown of a basic day here in the world of Italy. We’re in a constant state of go. It’s exhausting, but worth it. For example, Today (the 10th) we went to Siena and I saw Lorenzetti’s Effects of Good and Bad Government. I snuck pictures, but they didn’t come out too well…still, it was pretty cool.
And now that you have a rundown of a basic day, I think it may be time to meet the professors. The people in charge of my grade…I often forget I’m getting those at the end of this…
DP21: Or Dr. Patrick for most people. He’s the really fast guy, that makes us write stupid Journals. Oh how I hate those Journals. I’ve actually had DP for Intro to Art…I had to write a stupid essay in that class too. Anyway, he’s the resident art historian and super speed walker.
Jeff Dell: My Drawing professor. He lived in Venice once upon a time, and he’s fluent in Italian…so when I need to know what something says, or how to get it I ask him.
Weller: or Eric…or Eric Weller. He’s the Photography professor. I like him, because he isn’t in charge of my grade XD
David: Oh David, you are quite a Character. I swear, every sentence this man says must hold the words So and Basically. So Basically he’s a pretty cool guy. He instructs the drawing class along with Mr. Jeff Dell. He’s also the dude that runs Artis
Nadia: David’s Italian wife, and the mom. She is just like a mom, the one you go to with any problem. She’s the one that solved the mystery of the hives. We like her.
And so concludes the introductions.
Now for a brief summery of the day’s events, Saturday the 11th
We went to Siena and then to the town of San Gimignano. There I went to a torture museum and then ate world famous gelato. Is it wrong that I find torture devices morbidly fascinating? Is it wrong that I enjoyed a big bowl of gelato afterwards?
I didn’t think so.
In 2 days I go to Venice.
I’m riding a Gondola, no matter how much it cost gosh dernit!
Gondola!
Rash D:
So so...
I learned that Italian washing machines are teh suxz0rz.
And I'm alergic to woolite.
What dose this mean, it means last night I break out in horrible horrible hives. Craptastic! So, after careful inspection by David and Nadia it was dertermined the washing machine hadn't washed out all the soap in my clothes. In the end, they were right...but for a while I was afraid I had some horrible Italian rash. D:
Today I went to a graveyard.
It was really cool, in that morbid kind of way.
And tomorrow is a trip to siena.
Hooray!
PS:Lauren, you're getting a T-shirt and Earings by default, because the T-shirt I bought myself didn't fit, and I washed it so they won't take it back ):
I'm sure you're happy though.
Loser!
Leaning Tower
OMGLOLDON'TFALL!!!!1/!?!?!//1

Look at it, all leaning

It looks so funny in person.
Ok, so 2 days ago it hailed here, crazy weather. It nearly rivals Texas...nearly. Anyway, I did my Laundry that night before I knew it would rain. Then it did, and it cooled off. So, the next day the only clean thing I had was sleaveless. I wore it. I forgot sunscreen. We went to Fisole and spent all day outside.
Burninated D:
And in Italy, they don't have Aloe Vera...so I found some after sun lotion that is supposed to relive burn. Cross those fingers.
I went to the Ufizzi and I saw like 10 masterworks. Birth of Venus, Venus of Ubrino, Madonna with the Long Neck, and more. Crazy.
Oh, I have another show to add to my list of things I've seen in Italian. I caught an episode of Gillmore Girls, dubed. XD

Blog # 3 from Italia.
What's happend since last I updated...
well, last Thursday I had a cookinglesson and ate the best meal I've had since I've been here. It was AMAZING. Real, authentic Italian cooking.
Yesterday I went to Cinqua terra and saw the beach. It was beachy. I listened to my iPod and lazed around. I didn't get tan though, becuase lets face it, that just dosen't happen to me. I did, however, manage to not get burned. Score!
Oh, also last Friday I went to Pisa. The tower is leaning XD
It's so cool looking.
I'll have pictures, but I forgot to resize them and I'm on the clock so you'll have to wait till next time.
Ciao
Hello from Florence again
I've been seeing a lot of things, crazy wonderful art filled things. Today I went to San Lorenzo and Santa Maria Novela. Before my 2 day break I saw the David and the Medici Chaple. Information OVERLOAD D:
Everywhere I turn theres something amazing. It's crazy.
There are some things I miss though, like food. American food. I want some good old home cooking, they don't have that here. The have pasta. Lots and lots of pasta...and sandwitches. I'm getting sick of ham...and I love ham.
Also, heres something I thought I'd never say. Thank God for MTV. You see, they just take shows from america, and subtitle them. I've seen made, and wanna come in, and lots of music videos. Beverly Hills came on today and I spazed out. =w= = <3
