  u freaking 2
OMFG
U2
FREAKING
PWNS

Anyone thats ever seen a live show knows, there is something really special about being the presence of the artist. The music coursing through you're body, the visual spender, the energy that causes everyone to stand for 2 hours and clap and sing and scream bloody hell. It's like being in the presence of greatness.
Tonight I was in the presence of greatness.
FREAKING AMAZING
Being behind the band really didn't take away much at all. The way the seats are set up, its very steap so we really had a birds eye view. In the end the music is still music and it sounded amazing. I also learned tonight that you should not go to concerts with your parents. They want to leave early.
Case in point:
after the end of the second encore (before they had even finished the song) my dad tells me we're leaving. I say no and wait till they exit the stage. Well, its still dark. Everyone knows that they turn on the lights when its over. We walked past some more seats...still dark. I warn him if they come back out I will kill him. We ride the escalator down and I hear screams and then music.
Damn.
In a frantic dash I take off (Stacey in toe) and end up passing the escalator back up. There was np turning back now so I just keep on runiing. AND low an bwhold there is an open entrance (all of the others had black curtains covering them..and the mean security wouldn't even leave them open so you could stand and listen >>) And its the wheelchair accesable area. There are people standing around the railing, and I walk up to see if there was a place for me to stand. This nice guy in a wheel chair pulls me over and lets me stand next to him. I bow graciously and offer thanks as Yahway is halfway over. In the end it was a better move, we had made it to the front and center of the stage.

Oh dad, you wanted to leave early to avoid the parking issues...in the end it just took longer becuase I had to find you after my escapades.

Hands down best concert ever.
Sorry Weezer, you just lost. ):
It ws U freaking 2

  bad luck
I seem to be having bad luck lately. What with the crashing of my hard drive and then today the disaperance of my art box.

I could have sworn I put it in my locker, my portfolio was in there. How could I just leave the thing somewhere, it's bright yellow. BUT, I must have, because it isn't in my locker and it isn't in my apartment.
Either that or someone hacked into my locker...but I really doubt that....

at least 150 bucks worth of supplies, gone.

FUN!

plus, my box had cool stickers on it ):

  adventures in handymanism
My hard drive is officaly shot.
BUT
There is a 50 50 chance they can retrieve my files.
Cross fingers now.

AND NOW
ADVENTURES IN HANDYMANISM
I learned that I am in no way handy. I instaled my bookshelves fairly simply and decided I needed more shelving so I got a unit at walmart to put over my "sewing table" HELL! PURE HELL! I tried using those white thingies you drill into the wall and anchor the unit...I used the same things for my bookshelves. LOLZ NO. They would strip down and then fall out of the wall, leaving me with 6 huge holes. Also, I hung the thing not straight. SO...I took it down and today I spackled all the holes and tried again. I used these metal thingies you hammer into the wall. They did work, but just bairly...and it was horrible. I am never doing anything handy again. I was thinking about getting a TV wall mount so I could have a TV in my bedroom, but I'm not going to now just becuase I don't want to bother to instal the damn thing.

I never want to see a drill again.

I blame the hanging hardware. DONT buy hardware from Walmart...
also the walls suck.

  I died last night
My life ended last night at around 2:00 AM.
When my hard drive almost positively crashed, taking along with it 15 anime episodes, 30 MP3s, 3 site layouts, 100 pictures of Italy, and probably a bazillion doodles...and all my favorie sites on the itraweb.

and more.

DEAD

Goodbye life.
It will be interesting to start it over, clean slate...
It will be hell to hunt down all those websites.

My computer really dose hate me. It knows it pretty much controls my life, and it likes to screw around just to see me sweat. I bet it's in heaven right now.

In other news,
I found the best club on campus. It puts all others to shame.
What is this amazing club you ask?
CHOCOLATE CLUB.
What do you do? Eat a crap load of chocolate.
Seriously, best club ever.

(the well endowed) frog prince and KuroNekoSama
My current assignment in ComDes 3 is to illustraite the meaning of a word in the word using a type solution. My word is Charm. SO...our roughs were due today and I put them up on the board just like everyone else, ready to hear some helpful imput. Now, one of my solutions was to substitute the R in charm for a croaking frog prince. I used the shape of the R from a typeface, trying to keep the form as similar to the R as posible. I thought it looked like a frog with a front leg...albeit a little weird looking. Well, when someone mentioned mr. prince as their favorite of the collection my professor made the coment it looked like he had a lame leg.

and then someone called out
"You mean his penis?"

D:

how charming.
Images of the imfamous frog will apear shortly...when I'm near my scanner.

And then in my 3-D design class we went over our grades one by one and when I was talking to the professor he asked what was on my shirt. It was KuroNekoSama :D so then I explained who he was and where he came from and how in Japan most anime's begin as Manga's and then become animated. (all of this was prompted by questions...I didn't just go off on an anime rant) He's been reading a Manga drawn by the guy that did Astro Boy about the life of the Buhda. He said he saw a potential for it to be addicting.

I warned him it was VERY possible.

If you value your money, your time, and your sanity you'll stay away from Anime.
If not, come talk to me, I'll hook U up LOLZ

  flcl
So I'm watching FLCL (anime) on Cartoon Network. It's a realy good series. I don't like it for the plot line, cosidering its 6 episodes long and I've seen it at least 4 times and still have no idea what's going on. Despite the fact that it makes absolutely no sense, or at least none that I've found, it's so visualy stimulating it really dosen't matter. It's just really cool to watch. That's why you watch it, not becuase it makes sense, but becuase it's just so cool to see. That, and the music is good.

make a large donation to the "Cat needs cash to see Bono rock it out" fund
October is half over and I still haven't watched the Zim Halloween special D:
Maybe it's becuase I have no time to do it. Take this weekend for example, it will be spent working on 3 different art projects, and working all day Saturday.
I'll make time to watch it, I'll watch it tomorrow. I'm sure I can find 30 minutes for my favorite green alien.

SO, I'm in the anime club and this year we're actualy doing stuff (other than watching anime). We're having a poker tournament to raise teh moniez...so we can spend it at cons and stuff. Hopefully it will be sucessful. I get to learn how to deal :D

I've officialy given up on U2 tickets. I knew I wasn't going for a while, but I liked to cling to that little hope, but it's not happening, unless someone wants to make a large donation to the "Cat needs cash to see Bono rock it out" fund.

My shelves are FINALY here, now I just have to install them. I can have bookshelves O: It's funny becuase I have no books. I have lotz of plushies and Manga. And a TV... My bookshelves feel cheated.

Lastly, I'm finaly getting my sewing machine THANK GOODNESS.
I can make stuff again D:

water sucks! It really really sucks!
Today it rained like there was no tomorrow. My pants got soaked up to the knee. I HATE rain. HATE it. There is nothing good about having to trudge across campus in a terential downpoor with a 50 pound backpack and a dinky umbrella. There is nothing fun about having perminantly wet feet for the remainder of the day. There is nothing cool about gently being luled into a slumber in the midle of the class before a big test (granted I probably would have done this anyway). Rain is only good if you have the time to laze around in sweat pants and eat a lot of chocolate. I DO NOT like rain.

On Thursday I have a Philosophy test. I was not worried about this test, last test he gave us 2 essay prompts and some study questions. I made something around an 80, and this was the test I went to the Weezer concert the night before. SO, no sweat right? LOLZ NO! 8 essay prompts this time. DUBLEUTEEEFF MATE!You can't do that to us, we judge all your exames bassed off the first one. I DO NOT like Philosophy.

As I waited for the increadably slow post road bus to show up and rescue me from a soggy dismle sidewalk I noticed this guy...and on his cell phone he had one of them cell phone charms. AHND it was Chii* X3 (well, technicaly it was Freya...but NO ONE is even going to know who Chii is sew...)I wanted to squeel like a little girl, but refrained from doing so, thinking he would probably get scared. If he hadn't been wearing headphones I might have commented on it...might have.

*Chii- a character from a Manga series writen by Clamp. That is her down there V

it may be 70 degrees outside, but it's hot in heeeeeeeeeer'
Guess what?
My air conditioning went out on Saturday night.
It didn't just go out, the heater came on.
Needless to say it got hot in heeeeer'
And what makes the story even better (and by better I mean sad) is that the emergency matinance number was dead.

SO, I could do nothing to fix my air conditioning. It was over 90 degrees in here last night at 11.

So I packed and ran to Anna's, Jessie's and Moriah's with my little sister (who had to deal with all of this idiocy) where I slept on the floor. At least the floor was cool.

AWSOME.

I LOVE APARTMENTS!

And then I went over to the office this morning to tell them to get someone over here RICHT NOW D:< and I told them the air went out and the response I got. "OH, well it isn't considered an emergency when the air gose out unless it's over 85." And I was like, DUDE ITZ 90 DEGREES IN MY APARTMENT ROAR D:<

Next time, they better come running, because this wole thing was ridiculous.

Oh yes, on the final note, the matinance guy came, started working, and then had to leave to go take care of an apartment flood. Part of me was like...oh, I understand, that is more pressing then this...but the other part was like NO! I've had no air for 24 hours, mine was broke first D:

he left...becuase I am a nice girl. At least he got the heater to stop blowing hot air...so it's not as bad anymore, having the door opened is a big help too.

Charisma is an important teaching tool
Political Science and Philosophy, in my opinion I find the subject matter of both extreamly boring. I'm taking them only because they tell me I have to.
But, somehow every Tuesday and Thursday I can sit through my PoliSci class taking notes, listening, and learning and I can nearly fall asleep out of sheer bordem in Philosophy.

WHY?

Becuase one teacher starts the class off like this
"I'm so sore I think they need to amputate my butt cheeks"

and one starts it off like this:
"..."

Seriously,
this is nearly 2 weeks of notes in Philosophy:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Its not that I don't pay attention, it's that in 4 classes this is ALL that has been noteworthy.

Teachers can't just be experts in what they teach, they have to be entertaining too. They have to make it seem interesting even when it isn't. A good teacher could make the life cycle of a fruit fly facinating.
Charisma, it's almost as improtant as knowing the topic.

wake me up when september ends
It's October now officaly and stuff.
October seems to be a little more busey then previous months, what with Lauren coming next weekend and Halloween and stuff.

AND

because I'm pretty sure my probability of going to the U2 concert is about a bazillion in one I need a costume. If I can't see U2 I at LEAST need to dress up like a moron.

Walmart still dosen't have their costumes out yet, wich is really weird becuase usualy stores will have seasonal stuff up like 5 months before it accutaly happens. Hobby Lobby has christmas trees out already for crying out loud (and we all know how I feel about that, and if you don't I'll be happy to go rant mode for you)

Halloween is a really good holiday.
You get to dress up, and there is also candy.
I love candy.

I wish my sewing machine wasn't dead so I could make something new for halloween, but I think right now I'll just be using something out of stock. Oh I have costumes, they are awsome. You will be jelous, or scared I'm not sure yet.

Also, since it is now October I can watch the halloween episode of Zim. I need to get on that, I won't watch seasonal shows unless they are, in fact, in season.

another good thing about October is Daylight savings. Man, a whole hour extra. That sure is cool. I use it to sleep more. It's great.

Now, if only the weather would realise its October...
